25. Thomas SKINNER (Alexander , Thomas , John , Alexander , Alexander , Alexander ) was born 1836 in Ashreigney, Devon. He died 18 Jun 1905 in Portsmouth. Thomas was employed as a Shipwright, HM Dockyard, Portsmouth. In 1859 he resided in St Vincent St, Portsea and on 23 Mar 1861 took out a mortgage on 32 Waterloo St., Southsea.

Buried at Portsmouth Cemetery, Main Gate, Left hand side, Row 8, No. 14.
His marriage certificate states he was aged 22 (April 1859).

Thomas married 1, 2 Emily Fanny HEATHCOTE, daughter of John HEATHCOTT and Hannah HORN, on 10 Apr 1859 at Portsea. Emily was born 10 Apr 1839 in Portsea (Her marriage certificate states she was aged 20 in April 1859). She died 11 Aug 1873 in Portsea. Emily resided at 38 St Vincent Street, Portsea.

Elizabeth Emily SKINNER was born 1 30 Mar 1862 at 32 Waterloo Street, Southsea. She died 13 Nov 1926 in London.

Thomas SKINNER was born 8 Nov 1864 in Portsmouth. He died 13 Dec 1927 in Hull and was buried in Chanterlands Ave Cemetery, Hull.
Thomas attended the Portsmouth School of Science & Art between 1886 & 1887. He was employed in 1887 as an Apprentice Shipwright at Portsmouth Dockyard. In 1899 he joined the Board of Trade Office (Shipping) as a surveyor, becoming Senior Ship Surveyor for the Board of Trade, Hull. He was employed in 1900 as a Naval Architect.
He resided in 1887 at
10 Stanford St, Portsea and in 1899 at St Nicholas Road, Barry, Glamorgan.. He was a member of the Institute of Naval Architects.
About 1900 he became a Weslyan Preacher for the
Barry District.

Thomas married 1 Maud Webster HARWOOD, daughter of John Groves WEBSTER and Caroline Amelia EDMUNDS, on 12 Feb 1887 in Southsea. Maud was born 27 Oct 1864 in Portsmouth. She died 31 May 1966 in Bridlington, East Yorkshire. In 1886 Maud resided at 23 Curtis Terrace, Fratton and from the early 1900's until 1966 at 138 Westbourne Avenue, Hull.
