First Generation
1. Israël LUNDGREN was born 1750 – his origins are unknown but we have always presumed he was a Russian Jew likely to have fled to Finland to avoid one of the many pogroms. He died about 1796 in Ritoniemi, Kuopio, Finland. Israël was employed as a Bailiff. He resided before 1776 in Tyrväntö, Finland. In 1776 1 he moved to Kuopio from Tyrväntö, Finland. By 1787 he was resident in House No. 3, Ritoniemi, Kuopio, Finland.
The Kuopio Church Registers indicate that Israel owned both houses nos. 3 and 6 in Ritoniemi.
Israël married Ulrika Catharina BLANKENSTEIN between 1772 & 1777 at Lahdentaka Estate. Ulrika was born 18 Jun 1752 in Lempäälä, Häme, Finland [link to Parents], and moved to the parish of Pälkäne, Häme in 1766. She resided in Tyrväntö before 1787 – on 24 Dec 1787 she moved from Tyrväntö to Kuopio, to House No.3, Ritoniemi, Kuopio, and from 1796 in House No.6, Ritoniemi, Kuopio, Finland.
