Grass Cutting Contract

 

1 April 2013 - 31 March 2014

 

 

Ampney Crucis Parish Council is responsible for maintaining the Ampney Crucis Burial Ground and five grass verges throughout the village.  Tenders are invited for the 2013-2014 contract for grass cutting and strimming these areas.  Tenderers will be expected to have their own machinery and must have full public liability insurance.

Grass cutting requirements

 

The areas covered by the contract are:

1                 The areas covered by the contract are:

 

a)              The Ampney Crucis Burial Ground

b)              Grass verges at:

i)                The Donkey Field (2)

ii)              Junction of School Lane and Village Street

iii)            The Pound Tree

iv)             The War Memorial

v)               Park Corner

 

2                 The contract is from 1 April 2013 to 31 March 2014.  This covers 15 cuts per year throughout the growing period plus an additional cut of the War Memorial at the beginning of November. Also weeding and tidying the War Memorial garden on alternative visits. In addition, the contract covers strimming in all areas; for the Burial Ground on the first and subsequently on every other visit (i.e. 8 strims in all), and for all other areas strimming to take place on every visit (i.e. 15 strims in total).

 

3                 The contractor will be responsible for either mulching or removing all grass cuttings and leaving all areas, including the entrance, tidy at the end of every visit.

 

4                 The contractor must supply all machinery and must provide evidence to the Council of adequate public liability insurance.

 

5                 Contractors unknown to the Council are  asked to enclose two references preferably related to similar type of work (e.g. public authority mowing)

 

6                 Payment will be made in eight stages, unless agreed otherwise; at the end of March, April, May, June, July, August, September and October.

 

7                 Tenders should be sent to The Clerk, Ampney Crucis Parish Council, Grove House, Daglingworth, Cirencester GL7 7AW no later than 11 January, 2013.  The envelope should be clearly marked ‘Ampney Crucis Grass Cutting’.

 

8                 The final decision will be clearly communicated to all tenderers by the middle of February, 2013.  The Council’s policy is not necessarily to accept the lowest tender.  The Council’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into on the reasons why any one tender has been rejected.
