Simpkin Marshall – London

Simpkin Marshall  took over the Chatterbox from Wells Gardner, Darton  in 1928, but only published it for seven years before passing it on to Dean & Sons.  They made their “mark” by introducing Volume numbers instead of year dating, presumably to confuse the punters into buying out-of-date editions (Dean went further by removing all date and volume references).
